At f)ie close losses of fractions to around 2 points were In a decisive majority. Trading volume picked up a bit in late dealings and lifted the day's total to around 1,100.000 shares. Weakness also developed In the grain and cotton markets. Lower prices were paid for such stocks as U. S. Steel, General Mo tors, Montgomery Ward. J. I. Case. Caterpillar Tractor. Schenley. Phelps Dodge, J. C. Penney, American Woolen, Atlantic Coast Line and United Airlines. Boeing and Lockheed held on to small gains for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bellant, 3943 Clinton. Mrs. Cooper said she and her family worked until 3 o'clock in the morning getting out of the area and the highway near their home looked like a stream of wartime refugees I with cars piled high and even ducks I and chickens on the road. The Parkrose school, of which James L. Brown, newly named Klamath Union high school prin cipal is the head, has been named an evacuation center. Brown left here Tuesday to do what he could or residents of his area. Flood Relief Matinee To Be Held Monday A flood relief matinee will be held at the Pelican theatre Monday at 2 p. in., with admission to all persons contributing a bundle of clothing to the Salvation Army for the vic tims of the Columbia flood disaster. Arrangements were made by Earl Baughman. manager of Klamath theatres, for the matinee. Tickets will be obtained by taking bundles of clothing on Monday, up to 3 p. m . to the Salvation Army hall. Fourth and Klamath. The Salvation Army's disaster committee announced that Consoli dated Frvtghtways will transport to Portland without charge the dona tions of clothing and supplies through the Salvation Army. Fred Fleet, head of the commit tee, said there has been generous response to appeals for the flood victims, and a ton of clothing and materials went from her to Port land today. Money contributions are being accepted in containers at the First National bank. U. S. National bank. First Federal Savings and Loan, and Klamath Falls theatres. 1 Meeting Notices Mooting Notice! Kiwanis Gives To Band Trip Fund Kiwanis club members vesterdav "passed the hat" and collected $86 for the Klamath Union high school band trip to the Portland Rose Festival. He was accused of bootlegging. Dunn was arrested In Anril but has been free on tlOOO cash bail. He did not appear in court but was represented by E. E. Driscoll. At the time of his arrest Dunn had pleaded not guilty but Driscoll changed the plea. A 30-day jail sentence was sus pended by Justice of the Peace J. A. Mahoney.
