When Lila Cox set a date for her wedding to Lester W. McDon ald, she chose May 15 which was also her mother's wedding date There was quite a bit of sentiment in evidence at Lila's wedding. The white satin pillow carried by the ring bearer was the bride's baby pillow and the silver service used at the reception held in the Pelican party room, was an anniversary just ended. There are thousands of white crosses in what can be termed a very beautiful huge gar den. But strangely enough when you look out on that sea of crosses, you realize that the men who died just aren't there. I can never real ly explain it but it's like a room after laughing children have left. Something remains behind but the children just aren't there. "I always think it a pity to mourn the dead, too much, for life is truly eternal and I only w ish I could convey what I felt at Brook wood to every mother who has a loved one there. It's really a piece of America in Britain. I shall al ways visit It when I am that way. There's such a nice GI in charge he's from Ohio I told him ail about our friendship and he was pleased I knew Americans."
