Oamer post office was in service 1903-3. when It was closed to Bly. Jesjiie M. Boyd was the poetmaster. Doet anybody know Its location and and why was It named? Albert Jones was postmaster at a place called Juniper In 1BB9-M. If anybody knows where this post of fice was situated please send tn the farts. 1iraton post office was In charge of Oliver P. It was named for the postmaster and closed to Ijttkvtiie. Morton post office operated from !8Bf to 1894, when It was closed tfl Tulelake. H. K. Oay was the first postmaster. Where was It situated and why was It nomed? Odessa Is one of the odd post office names of Klamath county. The office ran from wn to WIS, The uiulerhlgned has been to Odessa but was unable to get Information about the reason for the name. Royston post office oierated from 1832 to 1908 with but one post' master, I,ura E. White. Doea any. one know why the place was called Roys-ton? Some of your readers ought to remember about It. There Is one other Klamath coun ty office about which the compiler can get no Information as to the meaning of the name and that la Ivan. That post office was estab lUhed In 1028 with Andrew J. Han an. postmaster. It was changed to Worrten In 1930. Who knows why the place was called Ivan? Returns about the old Oregon post offices are coming In but very slow ly. There have been 2200 post of fices In Orciton In 100 years and about 600 are still in service. The Oregon Historical society has Infor mation about the origins of the names of nearly 2000. Time la run tng out on this business because the early settlers are fading from the picture.
