Mrs. Vincent Herllhy, club president, led the opening prayer and conducted the busliie-a meeting. Mrs. Virgil Smith announced in her financial report that tin set of encyclopedias, portable phonograph and most of the geography maps have arrived and are already in use In the classrooms. Mrs. Jeff Korsen reported for Hie nominating committee and bv unanimous approval of all members the nominations were adopted and the following officer! elected for the coming school year: Mrs. VlrRIl Smith will remain as treasurer; Mrs. Don Drullner, president; Mrs. E. M. Ul, vice president; and Mrs. W. a. Ely, secretary. These officers will be duly installed during the May silver tea which will be the last gathering of Uie group this year. After a lengthly discussion led by Mrs. Drullner, Mrs. David Van denberg and Mrs. J. A. Mahoney, the club agreed to sponsor a proj ect for the benefit of the Teen-Age center, with Mrs. Drullner. chair man. Mrs. W. O. Ely, Mrs. J. J. Ehreth and Mrs. E. M. Igl also led a discussion of Interest to members. Mrs. Otto Smith brought to the attention of the group the neces sity of the fathers' interest In school athletic activities, with the view that next year, with the fathers' assistance, the transportation prob lem might not be so difficult. Mrs. Dick Collins and Mrs. Drullner were appointed to handle the senior dance orchestra. The entertainment program was opened by the fifth and sixth girls chorus with a selection entitled "Far-off India." John Ely led mem bers of his class in a panel discus sion on "Travels of the Tomato." Theresa Wessel sang "Mother Com brini" by Oaskill. and the students of Sister Rose Claire presented a three-act play based on episodes In the life of the foundress, Mother Combrlnl. Harriet Lavenlk and Andrew Bar ry, vocal students, harmonized "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" by Herbert. Mrs. W. O. Ely and Mrs. John An drews then served refreshments to member and guests in the dining room. They were assisted by Mrs. Leo Donovan. Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Rich ard Flynn. Mrs. J. H. Gallagher, Mrs. C. Matney. Mrs. Moss, Mrs. Ray Oldenburg. Mrs. H -A. Psvlat, Mrs. Perry Pierce, Mrs. Eugene Prouty, Mrs. C. H. Wilcher and Mrs. George Tost. The next meeting of the Mothers' club will be the silver tea on May 23 when the new officers will be Installed. Installation The ladles auxiliaries to the Vet erans of Foreign Wars of Bloody Point, No. 6147 Malin. and Lost River No. 40.S6. Merrill, held a Joint installation for new officers Tues day night, April 13, in the new VFW hall In Malin. Irma De Labarge. past district president of Pelican auxiliary, Klamath Falls, was the installing officer. New presidents for the aux iliaries are Marie Vacknlu, Malin, and Fanny Phillips. Merrill. Immediately following the auxil iary installation, the Malin post held Installation with District Com mander Walter Stastny Installing John Clark as the new commander. Refreshments were served by the Malin auxiliary. Luncheon On Wednesday. April 14. the social club of Prosperity Rebekah lodge met in the IOOF hall for a potluck luncheon and business meeting with IT members and one guest. Mary Curtis, attending. The latter la a former member who now lives In Roseburg. Elizabeth Kellison turned in her "rolling dollar" which had collected $7.60, and Arloa Andrus volunteered t take it next. Another dollar, con tributed by Kathleen Hepburn, was taken by Isabel Foster. Evergreen Annual Party High school students from over tht county will be guests of the Elks lodge Wednesday evening. April 31, when the Elks hold their annual party for the younger set. The affair will be for high school students only, and those attending will be admitted on presentation of student body cards or passes at the door. Dancing will be to music by Evans' orchestra from 8 to 11 o'clock. Refreshments will be served. The affair Is Informal.
