Mr. and Mrs. Owen Pepple and Ted, were dinner guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pepple of Klamath Falls on Friday evening. The Bonanza city council Is spon soring a dance at the high school on May 1 to raise money for the fire equipment fund. A combination radio- phonograph will be given as an award. Street of Malin were honored at a surprise party Friday night at the Malin hlih school gym In commemoration of Street's tS years' service as principal of Malin schools. Friends In the community pitched in to present them with a movie camera and projector. Over 300 people were on hand for the occasion. A. . Street Principal Of Malin Schools, Honored The school band, directed by Charles Dobrey, played several se lections, and others on the program included Ell Tucker, violin, accom panied by Pat Tucker, home eco nomics class style show, with songs by the girls' glee club under the direction of Mrs. Lucille Gray. Winding up the program were several songs by the barber shop chorus, led by John Houston of Klamath Falls. Mrs. Charles Hamilton, president of the Helping Hand society, pre sented the Streets with a movie camera and projector, gifts of ap preciation from the community. Helping Hnnd members served re freshments. Presiding r.t the coffee services were M Everett Jones and Mrs. Glen Morton. Mr. and Mrs. Street cut a cake decorated for the occasion. MALIN. April 17 Over 300 friends gathered Friday night at the Malin high school gym to honor Andrew E. Street and Mrs. Street in recog nition of Street's 25 years as prin cipal of the Malin schools. Mrs. Ivan Ottoman, new president of the Parents and Patrons club, in troduced Harry Wilson, member of the county school board, who was introductory speaker and reviewed Street's work with the schools. Ap preciation and thanks were voiced for his long and faithful service. Street was graduated from Oregon State college in 1933. four years after the first union high school was formed In the Malin area, consisting of Malin. Shasta View and Bryant mountain. The Bonanza PTA met at the high school auditorium April 15 with president Iva Gourley in charge. The fifth grade won the award for having the most parents attending. New officers were elected with Esther Brown named president. Virginia Tofell, first vice president; Annie Romtvedt. second vice presi dent; Joanna Marchant treasurer, and Harold McAbee. secretary. The new officers will take charge of the May meeting. Delegates were elected to go to the state convention to be held at Ore gon Vocational school April 27, 28 and 29. Principal Sharp announced that baccalaureate services will be held at the high school May 18. and gradua tion May 21 with Phil Hitchcock as the speaker. Francis Skinner, 4-H club leader, and Joan Howell, assistant leader, both of Klamath Falls, attended and Invited friends to the 4-H show at the fairgrounds April 22. 23 and 24. Miss Howel) introduced the girls who gave a style show modeling the dresses they made this year. Younger club girls had a display of their work completed during the year. The girls and boys glee club under the direction of Lenore Sparks sang "Laughing Spring" and "Stars of a Summer Night." The spring music festival will be held at OVS on May 7. Following adjournment the large crowd went to the cafeteria where Velda Haley and her 4-H cooking class served 'delicious angel food cakes and fruit gelatine made by the girls. Sweet peas and Iris were beautiful on the refreshment table. The final PTA meeting will be held May 20.
