Election of officers and directors foi 1948 will be held, The Dairymen's association was organised some years ago to foster the dairy Industry in the Klamath basin, in every nay, including pro duction, advertising and marketing of dairy products, and to promote a closer oiyanimt ion of dairymen for their mutual good. For this reason, this meeting is being combined with a meeting of the dairy sub-com-1 ml t tee of the agricultural planning conference. Means and methods for rebuilding the Klamath dairy in dustry will be the main topic of discussion. Dairy cow numbers before- the war were in the neighborhood of 8000 cows. During the war, due to adverse price conditions under price control for dairy products, the dairy population of the county was cropped to below 3000 cows. The i present dairy population is esti- j mated at somewhere between 4000 and 4500 cows. Since approximately j one-half of the dairy products con I sumed in Klamath county at the 1 present time are brought in from ' neighboring counties and California, it seems logical that the field is open to rebuild the local dairy in dustry to its former pre-war level.
