He was also a guest of the Lakeland Flying Serv ice the same day, flying with Penny Payne over the city, landing on the lake and motoring about the island. Audrey Reed and Joy Blags were also passeniters on tills flight. Flight Examiners Chet Btlnson and Allen Mocabee have received designations from CAA as official flight examiners. So now students do not have to wait for an official to come down from Portland to take their exam inations but may take them when they are ready. Trip Cancelled Four Ercoupes left the local alr pbrt at 8:30 a. m. Sunday piloted bv Mike Houser, Jim Scott, Bob Nlcodemus and John "Kit" Carson, headed for Pendleton, but were turned back by bad weather at Chlloouin. Passengers were Morale Houser. Helen Scott, Agnes Oeddes and Joy Biggs. The flight was planned to attend the Sa,feway Employes asso ciation convention and banquet at Pendleton. Houser Is district man ager for Safeway stores, Jim Scott, manager of the store at 11th and Main and Miss Oeddes is Homer's secretary. Houser, leading the flight, be lieved the planes could get through without any trouble, but consider ing the rough weather, rugged coun try to be crossed and the necessity of bucking a head wind on the re turn trip, thought it advisable to cancel the flight. Spray Rig Damaged An Interstate Flving service N-3-N spray rig from Fairfax. Calif., fly ing too low down by Canby, Calif., last Thursday, got tangled up with the brush and was pulled to the earth, according to unofficial re ports received. The under-carriage of the plane was damaged and it was hauled by trailer back to Fair fax, but the pilot escaped without injury. New Trainer Allen Mocabee has returned from Portland with a new Pioer PA-11. which is on display at the Oregon Aircraft service. Brllisle pictured above are the new managers of LaPointe's fur department. Belllsle has been In the fur business since 1928 and for the past 11 years was with the Arctic Fur company of Seattle and Portland, the last two years of which he was shop man ager of Arctic's rorlland store. From now on LaPointe's will be equipped to storej repair and restyle furs under the management of the Belllslea. Mr. and Mrs. Belllsle recently purchased a home on Lakrshore drive. They said they like Klamath Falls and the Klamath people. left Monday after a visit with her brother, Mike Houser, and family, Lakeshore drive. Mike took them for a short cruise over the city while they were here. His mother. Mrs. A. B. Houser of Roseburg. also visited over the holidays.
