There has been a terrific demand for tick ets, but KUHS officials have de clined to depart from the cus tomary gate sales. The games Tuesday and Wed nesday night put the Pelicans against their arch rivals, the Medford Tigers, and that compe tition in itself is usually enough to overflow the spacious bas ketball arena. But the district 4 crown and fare to the state prep school basketball tourney at Eugene is swinging from this series. District standings show that Coach Wayne Scott's Pels have the Med ford boys on the spot. .. Klamath has 13 wins and a single loss In league play, while Medford has won 12 and lost two. Only these two games re main to be played, so the pres sure is definitely on Hank An derson's boys from over the hill. Medford needs to win ootn games to take the champion ship. Klamath can get by with Just one, an even break. Hank Anderson, coacn oi me Black Tornado, was in the crowd at Grants Pass Thursday night to see the Pels in action, and the result of that scouting will undoubtedly be thrown at the Pels tomorrow night. The two teams have been pointed directly at this series all season, and it should en tail a fiery couple of con tests. Previously this season the two squads have divided a set, Medford winning 46-36 and Klamath recovering, 48-37. Medford is a.- shade behind the Pets in the standings be cause of a two-point loss to Grants Pass some weeks back. Saturday night Medford 'topped Central Point, 48-26. Caveman T7t$ Not Riot-Like Coach Wayne Scott of the Klamath Pelicans said today that he had been questioned considerably by basketball fans concerning the two games last week at Grants Pass, and that he wanted to make it clear that although the games were fiery and hard-fought, they were never at any time out of hand. . The first game, at least, has been described as a near-riot. Scott said that there was a spell of booing and catcalls on the officials' decision which put Jack Orr, Caveman star, out of that game but it was quickly subdued and never got out of control. Scott said that both teams were out to win and the of ficials were calling their de cisions close, accounting for a great many fouls, but none of the fouls were committed maliciously.
