I have just returned to my camp from a day spent in the great stone tepee where the two main Washington tribes the "democrats" and the "repub licans" hold their councils. Before describing the weird sacrificial ceremony I saw that has left me shaken with a name less terror, I must tell something of the council hut. The elder chieftains of both ' tribes, the "senators." have pri vate elevators to carry tnem 10 the different levels. Vets Continue At Colleges, Claim SALEM, Jn. 31 Dr. Paul C. Packer, state chancellor of higher education, denied yester day that many veterans are drop ping out of the university and colleges. Addressing a joint legislative ways and means sub-committee, he said that fewer freshmen have dropped out of school this winter than ever before.
