Mrs. Hoffman ix a native of Klamath Falls and attended grade and high schools here. She later moved to the coast, residing at Rcedsport and Coos Bay. She attended Oregon State college and served two and a half years In the marine corps women's reserve, xtatloned in Waxhlngton, D. C. Lt. Hoffman wax xtatloned at tho naval air base at North Bend In 1943. later being tranx- ferred to the naval air station in Klamath Falls. After a brief business meeting at which time a sizeable amount was trans ferred to the Golden Anniversary fund, refreshments were served from a very attractive tea table centered with a dish garden which was later awarded as a prize. Five tables of bridge were in Rlay during the afternoon with Irs. Henry Perkins receiving high score and Mrs. Oscar Pey ton second. The special award went to Mrs. F. H. Cofer. The next meeting will be February 7 at which time Mrs. O. R. Hol loway and Mrs. Victor Palmer will be hostesses. Wednesday Club The Wcdncsdny club of St. Paul's Episcopal church met this week at the church parish house. Hostesses were Mrs. George Flitcratt, Mrs.. Don An derson, Orpha Hudson, Mrs. Eldred Putnam and Lyravine Fish. Bridge awards went to Mrs. Marvin Lucas and Bernice Red key. In pinochle, Bernice Rich ardson received the prize. The next meeting will be January 22 at tho parish house. - Dr. and Mrs. Denton J. Recs of Portland, former residents of Klamath Falls, visited hero this week with friends. Lesmeister of Brookings, formerly of Klamath Falls, to Harold C. Smades of Fresno, Calif. Vows were exchanged in St. John's cathedral at Fresno. The young couple,' o(ter a wedding trip through southern California and Mexico, will reside In Fresno. daughter, Genevieve Ann, ond Coming Rites Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Mc Kcy of New York City announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth McKey, of Klamath Falls, to J. W. Leonard, formerly of Cali fornia and now of this city. The Rev. Frederick C. Wisseii bach will read the ceremony at St. Paul's Episcopal church Saturday afternoon, January 18, before the immediate families of the couple. Mrs. McKey, mother of ' the bride-elect, is expected to arrive from her home in the east early next week. Miss McKey arrived here sev eral months ago from New York to take over the duties of execu tive director of the Camp Fire Girls in tills area. Mrs. Carey M. Ramsby plans to leave Monday, by plane for Piedmont, California, where she wilt visit for several weeks with her sister-in-law, Mrs. S. E. Mar tin of that city. Party Climaxes Holiday Visit The Pelican party room was the scene of a dinner and danc ing party last Saturday evening, January 4, when a farewell affair was held for Geraldine McKendree and Mervyn Shuck, who left soon afterward for school following a holiday vacation at their homes. Entertaining for them were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott McKendree and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Shuck, of Merrill. Miss McKendree is a student at St. Helen's hall in Portland and Mr. Shuck is studying at 'Montezuma School for Boys in California. A school of instruction for the new honored queen, Marilyn O Neill, and her officers, will be held at 4 o'clock, the same day. Birthday Anah Mae Templeton and Mar garet Babcock were hostesses at a party this week when Carl Lee Petty celebrated his 13th birth day. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Glen Templeton, Attending were Mary Demetra kos, Ardith, Katheryn and Dar lene Allenby, Jimmie Shearer, Charles and Donald Rice, Darwin Petty. Communion The women's auxiliary of St. Paul's Episcopal church attended corporate communion at 11:30 Thursday morning, January 2, followed by a potluck luncheon in the parish house. Annual committee reports were given, and January 12 was set as the date for installation of new officers. Tea Is Event Of Thursday Mrs. E. D. Johnson of 841 Pacific Terrace entertained at her home Thursday afternoon with a tea for her daughters, Mrs. Stuart Nelson and Mrs. William R. Hopper and her two small granddaughters, Gene vieve Ann Nelson and Roslyn Carol Hopper, Hours were from 4 to 6 o'clock, and Mrs. Victor O'Neill presided at the tea table the first hour with Mrs. Fred Schallock pouring the sec ond hour. The pretty tea table was centered with an arrange ment of chrysanthemums, mari golds and heather in varying shades of yellow, with tall white tapers completing the decorative setting. Mrs. Nelson and Genevieve Ann are visiting from Pensa cola, Florida, and will leave late next week for their home. Mrs. Nelson is the former Bar bara Johnson. Mrs. Hopper, the former Mary Lou Johnson, and little Roslyn Ann left todi.y for their Portland home. Miss Parker is a native of San Francisco and joined the army nurse's corps in November, 1044, and served in this country and in the Pacific. Monthly Meeting The Klamath Falls Soropti mist club met Thursday at 12 noon for ita regular monthly business meeting in the Pelican party room. Mickey Henry said the Camp Fire Girls had succeeded in ob taining the necessary items for outfitting their house on Con ger avenue. Donations were made by individuals as well as from the club. Izola Parker and Kathleen Thompson reported on the ac tivities of child welfare and health groups in Klamath county. They urged members to give thought to the needs of these groups and be ready to help wherever possible. There are still phases of child health and welfare not incorporated in the programs of organiza tions that are operating at the present time. Stead of San Diego, Calif., who exchanged vows with William H. Winkel man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Winkelman Sr. of Klamath Fall. The ceremony was read at the home of the bride's parents at 2 o'clock in the afternoon against a background of greens, holly and poinsettias. Tor the nuptials, the bride chose a suit of pearl gray with matching hat and cherry coke accessories. Her bridal bouquet was centered with a single large white orchid. Maid of honor was Beverly La Plante, who wore a gray suit with black accessories. Her corsage was of pink camellas and earns- . tlons. Best man was Virgil Win kelman Jr. of Monrovia, Calif. A reception followed the cere mony. Mr. Winkelman is a graduate of Klamath Union high school, and served two. years in the navy air corps. Mr. and Mrs. Winkel man will make their home' in Klamath Falls. The Klamath Falls branch of the American Association of University Women will honor its state president, Mrs.' C. D. Winston of Ashland, at a dinner meeting next week. . Date of the affair has been set for Wednesday evening, January 15, at 6:30 o'clock in the Winema hotel.
