Bay. She attended Oregon State
college and served two and a

a sizeable amount was trans
ferred to the Golden Anniversary
fund, refreshments were served
from a very attractive tea table
centered with a dish garden
which was later awarded as a
prize.
Five tables of bridge were in
Rlay during the afternoon with
Irs. Henry Perkins receiving
high score and Mrs. Oscar Pey
ton second. The special award
went to Mrs. F. H. Cofer. The
next meeting will be February
7 at which time Mrs. O. R. Hol
loway and Mrs. Victor Palmer
will be hostesses.

Holiday Visit
The Pelican party room was the scene of a dinner and danc
ing party last Saturday evening, January 4, when a farewell
affair was held for Geraldine McKendree and Mervyn Shuck,
who left soon afterward for school following a holiday vacation
at their homes.
Entertaining for them were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott
McKendree and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Shuck, of Merrill. Miss
McKendree is a student at St. Helen's hall in Portland and Mr.
Shuck is studying at 'Montezuma School for Boys in California.

Mickey Henry said the Camp
Fire Girls had succeeded in ob
taining the necessary items for
outfitting their house on Con
ger avenue. Donations were
made by individuals as well as
from the club.
Izola Parker and Kathleen
Thompson reported on the ac
tivities of child welfare and
health groups in Klamath
county. They urged members to
give thought to the needs of
these groups and be ready to
help wherever possible. There
are still phases of child health
and welfare not incorporated
in the programs of organiza
tions that are operating at the
present time.

Winston of Ashland, at a dinner
meeting next week. .
