The federal airport bill ac tually apportions $7,000,000 for Oregon in the five-year period, but much of that is needed for non-construction purposes. The state plan probably will not start providing it is passed bv the legislature until late 1947. Hill said. The state plan calls for construction of 51 class one fields 1800 fact by 400 feet, unsurfaced fields 2700 feet long: and one class three field, 3700 feet long. Five existing airports would be improved. Irving Allen, chairman of the Oregon aviation council's legis lative council, proposed a four cent gas tax on airplane fuel to raise the needed state funds. The names of. the Warners were issued through the army's Berlin district press relations of fice by Ray Carlucci, chief of the army criminal investigation office here. Carlucci estimated that "if the business had gone on for one vear the profit would have been $2,000,000."
