Cards Not Necessary For Labor Reporters ASTORIA. June 14 lI') News reporters ought not to be re quired to have union cards for admittance to labor convention mooting, the Oregon Federation of Labor believes. Such restriction "Is hardly in accord with our demand for a free press," an approved state ment by the resolutions commit tee said. The statement accom panied a recommendation for voting down a Klamath Falls district proposal. "No complaint has been heard of unfairness In reporting this convention," the statement said, "and we believe that is the grow ing tendency of newspaper re porting generally. But even if reporters at times are unjust, the remedy Is not to increase their prejudices by discrimina tion." Courthouse Records Marrlsff Ltetrnsee EAOAN-McCUMUER. Elmer Dudley Eaian, 41, cook.
