Century Group To Seek Funds Underwriting the pageant for the Centennial celebration will be the next move of the associ ation and will get underway as aoon ai a finance committee Is appointed, It was announced to day. Within the next few days the committee will be announced fend it will be the work of the members to secure signers of notes for optional amounts to cover estimated expenses total ing $13,000. Notes will not be cashed unless necessary and it is not expected that guarantors will be asked to pay out, associ ation executives stated. ' Sources of income will be tick et sales and concession fees. Any surplus, over and above ex penses, would be turned over to the Klamath museum fund, ac cording to by-laws of the associ ation. Plans are to engage a man ager to take full charge of the celebration which will be held this fall. Outlying communities are invited to participate and anyone with script ideas is in vited to submit them to the Klamath County chamber of commerce. Garbage Collectors Report Food Saving PORTLAND, May 8 WP Portland is saving food with a vengeance in the food-for-famine campaign, it was reported today by the men who ought to know. Garbage collectors told the state food-for-famine committee that the amount of discarded food has decreased noticeably.
