Friends in. Klamath county
were udvised this week of the
death of Clifford Glenn Burk,
4B, who died suddenly of a heart
ailment at his home in Portland
on March 20. He was the son
of Mrs. Birdie Burk and a broth
er of Mllburn Burk, both of Bo
nanza. Burk was born in Bonanza and
lived there for many years, grad
uating from Bonanza high school
and also attending Oregon State
college. He was associated with
the Oregon state highway com
mission ns an engineer for 12
years and for the past five years
lias owned and operated a gro
cery store in Portland.
In addition to his wife, Stella,
Burk is survived by three sons,
Delmar of Portland, Delbcrt of
Harrisburg, Ore., and Virgil of
Sitka, Alaska, and one daughter,
Mrs. Pearl Turner, and a step
daughter, Elva, both of Portland.
Final rites were held at The Lit
tle Chapel of the Chimes and in
terment followed at the Rose
City cemetery in Portland.

their first real rest in four years
of accelerated .wartime work
when they leave for a six
months' vacation beginning Fri
day. Officials said the customary
fait term would open October 2
when the faculty is due back.
The accelerated year -around
school started in July, 1042.
