Throng Will See Vandals At Berkeley BERKELEY, Calif., March 6 OP) The University of Idaho Vandals are scheduled to arrive today to play California's Golden Bears for the Pacific Coast conference basketball championship before an already sold out house tms weekend. California, with an enrollment of about 13.000 in Berkeley, limited its students to 6000 seats, with a chance that most of them would get to see the title contest either Friday or Saturday. In case neither team wins both games, a third tilt will be played Monday. A thousand seats were placed on public sale yesterday and were Robbled up in 30 minutes. Coach Clarence N. (Nibs) Wednesday. The games will be played simultaneously, using the gym cross courts. Fremont, 1945 champ, is in the top-seeded spot and drew a bye for the first round of the double elimination tourney. The A league has played a round-robin schedule of games this season, the tilts having no bearing on the tourney, and Mills school emerged as the team to beat during the playoff. Second round games will be held at KUHS gym tomorrow afternoon. Tickets are 25 -cents for the whole meet, including the B league tourney next week. Chalky Wright TKOs Hansford MILWAUKEE, March 6 (JP) Chalky Wright, of Los Angeles, put together a wave of short but powerful jabs last night to score a fourth round technical knockout over his fellow towns man, George Hansford, in the scheduled 10-round main event of an Elks benefit boxing show. Nearly 6000 fans saw Wright, who scaled 136, blast and cut the 130-pound Hansford so se verely that the referee halted the match. TRAVELER SEATTLE. Frisco Planning Huge Sports Palace SAN FRANCISCO, Match 6 (JP) Plans for construction of a $1,250,000 sports palace which its sponsors envisioned as a sort of Madison Square Garden of the west, were announced today by Philip S. Ehrlich, president of San Francisco's winterland. Seating capacity of 12,500 is planned for the building, de signed for track and field meets, boxing, wrestling, rodeos, cir cuses, tennis, ice events includ ing hockey games, conventions and various other events.
