R, Newlun and family spent thu holidays visiting with relatives, They drove to Van Nuys, Calif,, to see their oldest son, Pvt. Buster Newlun who is receiving treat ment In tho Birmingham Gener al hospital at Van Nuys. En route tliey stopped over at Shoo makcr to visit another son, Ver non, who is serving In tho navy. Tho Newluns report Buster Is much improved. Ho Is able to bo In a wheelchair each day. They took him for a drive which was a special treat for him as he has been unublo to leave tho hos pital for over a year. The Langell Valley Women's club will meet at the parish hall on January ,24 instead of at Mrs. Fitzhugh's, due to very bad roads on that side of the valley. Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Friends here were glad to hear that Bill Roberts was not seriously injured as at first re ported In a recent accident. The Traveling Card club will meet on Thursday at 1 p. m. at Mrs. Earl Crulkshank's home. All camp women that play pi nochle were invited. Mrs. Hall has twins, a boy and a girl, born last week In Ashland. The clothing drive will start off with a contest between schools. The local students will contact all residents. There will be a March of Dimes party at the hall on Sat urday night for residents and friends. Those not . attending will be contacted by the school. The local librarians are pleased to see the new peoplo use the library which is open Monday from 7 to 8 p. m. Mrs. Ann Clark is working for Mrs. Charles Mack in Klam ath Falls. Fraln had the mis fortune of falling on the ice and suffered a badly bruised hand. Harry Hurlbut, who has just returned recently from overseas duties with the Scabccs, after visiting the Brothers family here, has gone back to his work at Weyerhaeuser where he was crn- filoycd before entering the scrv ce. Mr. and Mrs. John Kerns and son Joe returned Saturday from a two weeks' motor trip into California, visiting in the bay area and on south to Los An geles. They reoorted having a very nice trip and the weather tavorawe. They attended the New Year's game. Fred Herrick is home on leave from the navy visiting at the home of nis parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E.
