directed by their guardian, Mrs.

Uedney, sang two solos, "Char
mulnc'1 and ''East Is West." Two
films, "Softly In the Home" and
"Planters of Colonial Vlrglna,"
shown by Principal Wilbur Rob

voted to purchase two mats for
the gymnasium tole used by the

their oldest son, Pvt. Buster
Newlun who is receiving treat

al hospital at Van Nuys. En
route tliey stopped over at Shoo
makcr to visit another son, Ver
non, who is serving In tho navy.
Tho Newluns report Buster Is
much improved. Ho Is able to
bo In a wheelchair each day.
They took him for a drive which
was a special treat for him as he
has been unublo to leave tho hos
pital for over a year.

The local librarians are

take their son Gene Matchatt
back to his duties in the novy,
after having spent the holidays

fortune of falling on the ice and
suffered a badly bruised hand.
Harry Hurlbut, who has just
returned recently from overseas
duties with the Scabccs, after
visiting the Brothers family here,
has gone back to his work at
Weyerhaeuser where he was crn-
filoycd before entering the scrv
ce. Mr. and Mrs. John Kerns and
son Joe returned Saturday from
a two weeks' motor trip into
California, visiting in the bay
area and on south to Los An
geles. They reoorted having a
very nice trip and the weather

New Year's game.
