Wisconsin reports fulr demund, market about steady, last price reported 3 cents under floor, very few sales recently. Michigan, de mand is moderate, market steady, price at floor, 30 cents under ex-celllng. Upstute New York demand is good, market Ilrm, price 13 cents over ex celling. Florida, demand has continued good, market about steady, price $3.12 per 50 pound sack, washed, compared with a celling of $3.05 per cwt. In the terminal markets Chi cago reports light supplies of bom old and new stock, demand slow, market about steudy. New York terminal reports a dull market, slightly weaker for both old and new stock, San Fran cisco reports - a strong market, with l.c.l. wholesale price of Klamath District stock about $3.45 per cwt. for U. S. No. 1 size A. Note that most of the forego ing prices are compared with ex celling Instead of floor. with many now above celling. Growers should watch this rise and understand It. We think it's only an approximation of a "weather murkcl," which occurs when bad weather ties up ship ments and runs prices to levels out of llnevlth tho real supply. In tills case It has been cars that caused tho slow-down In volume, but the effect is the same. These prices aro set by demand relat ed to the effective supply not the real supply. Big chunks of the real supply, will continue to over-hang. Watch for labor and some government agencies to squawk about high prices. We wouldn't bo surprised to see re instatement of price ceilings on potatoes although we arc not forecasting It. Citrus should be an example, however, and a re turn of ceilings over potatoes Is possible.
