Lands are taken off the tax rolls and the former pay ment to the county .of 25 per cent of the cutting rights pay ment is avoided. At present Senator Guy Cor don has before congress a meas ure calling for government grants to the counties in lieu of the lost tax income, and pro ponents of the legislation hope to get more power behind the bill during this meeting.
