Need Filmi ' Merlin Bleak, cnalrman of leader training in the Klamath district, stated that there is a need for films and equipment to provide visual training for scoutmasters and cubmasters. The executive board will un dertake the project of securing the films. Reporting on recent progress at Camp Makmalla, Crescent Lake, Charles Overbay, camp ing and activities chairman, ex plained that two projects, work on the present mess hall and in stallation of an adequate water system, were necessary. The annual meeting of the Scout council was set for Jan uary 20. Committees were ap pointed for the meeting. On the program committee are R. H. H. E. Hauger, Buick dealer, announced that a new Buick is here and will go on display for the whole day at the Hauger showrooms, 1330 Main street. Dick Miller, the agent for Oldsmobiles. announced that the public can look over the 1946 Olds at his plant, beventn and Klamath, beginning Saturday morning. Both cars have many new features and the dealers pre pared for a parade of visitors. City Incinerator To Be Voted On ALBANY, Nov. 16 (P) A special city election petitioned for by residents who don't like their suburb's smell will be held on a proposed bond issue to finance construction of a mu nicipal incinerator. A group of 153 West Albany citizens protested against the city dump, declaring it emits an "unbearable" odor. The city council authorized a contract for operation of the dump and call ed for the special election. Some $20,000 would be needed for the incinerator. U. S. overseas forces required nearly twice as many tons of oil as of arms and ammunition, bat tle equipment, ammunition, food and all other supplies. of ii e lie LI OFFICER PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 16 (fP) First degree murder charges were on file today against Jack Drew, 26, Chicago, and Larry Oglcvie, 30, Kansas City, accused of the fatal shoot ing of Deputy Sheriff Al Bowe. A joint statement was issued against the pair. No formal men tion was made of 23-year-old Opal Ncwcomb, who hod worn Drew's engagement ring only n day before the shooting. The slender girl bookkeeper told an Interviewer how Wed nesday night had been planned as a quiet dinner date. She had known Drew about six years and written to him while ho was In service, sho said. She mid the two men had some beer at a tavern, she said, then she went out to the car. Shoot It Out "Jack came out In a few min utes," Miss Newcomb related, "then I saw Larry back out of the tuvern with a gun In his hand. 1 started to cry, and Jack said ho guessed ho was no good and I hud better not marry him. Then we heard a siren, Jack said to Lurry, 'well, this Is It looks like we'll have to shoot it out.' " She said the car stopped end Drew jumped out. Oglavlo was leaning out of the window and there were "a lot of shots. I saw Jack lying on the ground and the policeman beside him," sho said.
