This was ordered last nicht by Judge John C. Collet, stabili zation administration, ine rca son is that the government is discontinuing its nickel-a-pound subsidy tomorrow. The govern, mcnt already has paid the sub' sidy on most butter now in storage. Collet said in a statement that without repayment dealers would prom untairiy. ho di rected that dealers won't be en titled to a compensating five cent raise in butter celling prices until they do repay the subsidy on excess stocks. Hospital Ordered For Mentally III PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 30 UV) City police today had orders to place mentally ill prisoners in a hospital instead of jail, follow ing a meeting called by City Commissioner Fred L. Peterson. Peterson met with Police Chief Harry Niles and Probate Judge Ashby Dickson to investi gate reports that some mental prisoners were injuring them selves in cells where they were kept when the padded cells were occupied. One jailer testified "I have seen those people knock them selves out by charging against the cell doors or walls," Peter son reported.
