YOUNG PEOPLE SLATED SUNDAY Members of Calvary Com. mandcry Knights Templar of Klamath Falls, and Knights Templars from Bend will attend the 11 o'clock service at First Methodist church, 10th and High on Sunday morning. The Rev. Victor Phillips will preach on the subject, "The Fin ality of Jesus." The choir will sing special music and Mrs. L. P, Juniper will be the soloist. At 12:30 p. m., a group of young people will leave from the church to attend the young people's rally at the Methodist church in Ashland, which will be held Sunday afternoon and evening. Fellowship The Fellowship club of Zion Lutheran church will meet Sun dav evening at 7:30 o'clock. There will be a social meeting featuring a Halloween party. Service people are cordially in vited to participate in this af - fair. Victor A. Schulre, pastor of the church will speak on the topic, "Following The Way Into Life." Dr. Walter A. Maier, interna tionally famous .speaker of the Lutheran Hour, has returned for his 13th season of broadcasting. This program may be heard each Sunday morning over sta tion KFJI at 9:30. New Members Klamath Lutheran church. Cross and Crescent streets will receive new members into the congregation at morning wor ship Sunday at 11 o'clock. Pas tor S. M. Topcess will use as his theme, "Why Does Not God In tervene?" Young people's Luther league will meet at the church next Tuesday evening at 7:30 p. m. Delegates to the recently held league convention at Silverton, will give reports. They are Donna Wilkes and Virginia Oberg. Games will follow the program and refreshments will be served. All young people are cordially invited to attend. A Sunday school teachers' training class under the direc tion of the pastor, meets every Thursday, 7:45 p. m. The course consists of a series of mission studies on the text: "In the Lands of Pagodas, Temples, and Mosques," by Andrew Burgess. Colored slides are used to illus trate the classes. Extension Unit News "Developing Good Taste in Clothes" was the subject used by Mrs. Winnifred K. Gillen be- fore a large and interested group of women at the Klamath Falls home extension unit. The first meeting of the group was held in the women's lounge of the USO Tuesday. Goals discussed were: to de velop good taste in selecting and wearing becoming clothes; to be able to plan an adequate wardrobe and keep within the budget; to. know how to select clothes that are distinctive; to study how to dress attractively and interestingly without a var iety of clothes. Delicious salads, sandwiches, cookies and coffee were served at noon by the hostesses. Attending the meeting were Mrs. Ray Garrison, chairman; Mrs. Ken Samson, Mrs. A. E. Gross, Mrs. J. K. This aft. ernoon was a noisy one down on Main street and up at Die mgn school for KUHS held a big pep rally for the game, At 3:15 today the assembly started. The dance band played "Southern Fry" while the stu dents found their scats. Ted and Fred, co-yell leaders, and Bud Sclby led the yells. The mem bers of the dance band then helped to put on an act which consisted of playing "Hold That Tiger," after which George Zu pan made a speech. At the con clusion of the speech they played Chopin's "Funeral March." Jim Howard, president of the student body, explained the forthcoming rally. Instructions for the rally were that the sen iors were to leave first then the other classes in resDective order. Pep Peppers patrolcd the rankSr during the rally. Lines were formed single file and the ser pentining began down the street with the band and twirlers marching. They yelled and screamed all through town. The whole procession stopped at 7th and also at 9th and Main to form a large circle for yells led by the yell leaders. After the game tonight there will be a dance down at the Ma sonic temple sponsored by the Job's Daughters. Admission is 50c a couple and 35c stag. The dance wiH start as soon after the game as the kids can scramble down there. Student Council Yesterday at the Student Council meeting the council passed on the rules for the eligi bility committee which were proposed at a past meeting. The decisions of the committee, who formulated these rules, passed without any opposition. xne scnool ouices were divid ed into two groups according to the responsibility and work of the office. . ' Requirements for group B are no failing grades in precedine se mester. General requirements for both groups are that the deans shall refer to the character of any nominee for an office and the vice principal shall refer to the citizenship of the persons in question at trie eligibility com. mittee meeting. Rule 1. The eligibility commit tee shall be considered closed ex cept for personal invitation from the committee.
