Hender son said today that stuto law re quires u 1 J dairy heifers over six months of age be tested before they can be brought to any fair within the state. To date, only a small number of 4-H Club members in the dairy projects have indicated that they aro going to bring their calves to the show. Un doubtedly many arc planning to bring their calves but have ne- Elected to notify the county of ice, thereby making it Impos sible to secure an official test for Bangs disease before the show. All club members who have not notified the office of their Intention to exhibit dairy heifers over six months of age should do so at once in order that a date can be made to have them tesU ed. The same regulation applies to breeding beef heifers over six months of age. Deadline Set For Pay Applications August 31 Is the deadline date for two current production pay ment applications beef cattle and dairy. It's the final date for filing applications at the county AAA office for milk and buttor fat sold during April, May and June, also the last day to apply for the 50 cents a hundred weight payment on "beef cattle sold for slaughter between May 19 and June 30. The beef pay ment Is mado only on . cattle owned more than 30 days, aver aging over 600 pounds live weight and sold for at least $14, US a hundred. Feed Wheat Plan Ended August 15 The County AAA committee has received notlco that Com modity Credit's feed wheat pro gram was terminated August 15. Shipments will be mado on con firmed orders received before that date, but no more orders will be accepted. Provision is being made to supply mixers with feed wheat temporarily at Portland terminal prices plus freight. Last year, 4,215,434 bushels of feed wheat were sold to Oregon fcedors and dealers, according to state AAA office figures.
