Walla Walla Vets Have Few Complaints WALLA WALLA, June 15 (IP) Only two of the 420 patients of the Veterans hospital here had any complaint, according to Rev. H. H. Black of Tacoma, state American Legion chaplain, after he toured the Institution yester day, and these two said only that food was not seasoned to their taste. At the same time it was an nounced that Lt. Col. J. J. Beat ty, recently praised In a Legion report for doinK an "outstanding lob" at the Walla Walla hospital, has been ordered to Livermore, Cal., to assume temporary charge. The report, which the Legion Intends to submit to congress, said treatment at the hospital here was far in excess of that in other northwest hospitals but that efficiency was impaired by the need for making all decisions through Washington, D. Main The Klamath isolation hospi tal. Summers lane, which has been closed for the past two months, reopened this week, Dr. Peter Rozendal, public health officer, announced. The hospital was closed when Mrs. Ethel Millar resigned, and it was impossible to get effici ent help immediately to replace the staff. Mrs. Margaret Calahan, who was with the hospital a few years ago, has returned to Klamath Falls and is the nurse in charge now. Mrs. Olga Riley, who has also been with the hos pital before, completes the pres ent staff. One case of tuberculosis is being treated at the hospital at the present time. Mrs. Harriet McKay McKear nan, 91, was named queen of the 73rd reunion of the Oregon Pioneers association, which drew 15 of the state's original "old. timers." Mrs. McKearnan, who remem bered her first reunion 30 year ago, was a queen once before as an 18-year-old girl at tho Washington county fair. In 1900 the meeting was at tended by 2000 pioneers.
