Sgt. Pendleton, Colonel Roney said, led his men against an ene my machine gun commanding a street. He preceded his squad by 10 yards and had advanced 130 yards when he was wound ed seriously. Tulelake A litany of dedication is plan ned for the 11 a. m. service In the Tulelake Community Pres byterian church for Sunday, June 3, when the 29 new pews recently placed in the church auditorium will be dedicated. The service had originally been planned for Mother's Day but postponed in deference to the memorial service asked by Pres ident Truman. Glenn Wakefield, Colton, Ore gon, is a guest in the home of his fiancee, Maxine Buell. Their marriage Is to be an event of May 30. A general cleanup of the ceme tery In the Tulelake WRA cen ter last Sunday prepared the grounds for observance of Me morial Day this week. Sunday school services were cancelled to permit the young people to assist, Mrs. Estil Allison, the former Lura Osborne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Osborne, who left recently to join her hus band, Sgt. Estil Allison in New Orleans, was the honor guest at a farewell party given at the home of her parents. Mrs. Al lison taught this year in the Tulelake elementary ' school.
