Nelson, mnnager of the Klamath Falls office of tho social security board advised all workers "to show their social security account card to every employer for whom they work. This Is essential to protect the worker's wage record, which is maintained under his name and numbor for his future monthly Insurance benefits, Nelson point ed out. For example, there are approximately 875,000 Smiths on tho social security board's records and, therefore, there are approximately 875.000 accounts under the name of Smith. It Is Important that no two Smith nave the same number, In atressing this point of one number for a worker's lifetime, Nelson said that employers are required to report each work er s wages, under both his name and number to the government every three months. Then these wages are credited by the social security board on each worker's Individual ledger sheet, under both his name and number. Air Station Needs Engineers, Aides The naval air station here has openings now for engineers, civil and mechanical. Draftsmen and engineering aides are also needed. Bailey today mourned the loss of $600 cash and a 3319 check, He watched blithely while movers hauled hla bed and mat tress away to be shipped to his new Oklahoma home. Scarcello. on recruiting duty here from Portland for the marine corps, expressed their ap. preciatlon for the cooperation they received from Klamath real, donts. "This la the type of girls we want," the sergeants stated, 'girls who have something to contribute to the marine corps. The experience they receive in this branch of the service more than repays them for the civilian pleasures they relinquish when they join, and the opportunities offered members of the corps are multiple." Defective Burner Blamed For Fire MERRILL A defective oil burner was the cause of a fire which occurred about threa miles northeast of Merrill at 7:30 Friday evening. The Mer- rill fire department was called to the Roy Beasley ranch when the fire started In tha bunk house and gralnery. . . Some hay and grain was lost as well as a quantity of oil, al though no one waa Injured. Tha approximate loss has not as yet been estimated.
