Present for baccalaurcato on Sunday eve ning, followed by commence ment, were her parents and sister, Dorothy, also a student at the university, and her broth er, Marvin Jr. Miss Thomas, who is a mem. ber of Trl Delta and of Phi Kappa Phi, nationul education honorary, has received an ap pointment to Mills college at Oakland, Calif., where she will take postgraduate pork, spe cializing in dlctic training in the Institutional administration department. She will also serve for one year as acting dietician on the stuff. During her years at the Uni versity of Nevada, she received the Carrie Brooks Layman and the Governor Jcwctt Adams scholarships, and was actively associated with the Women's Athletic association, homo eco nomics club, Blue Peppers, University Singers and the band. She was vice president of the campus LWCA this year, and worked for the campus Red Cross. Sneakers for the commence ment and baccalaureate were Dr.' Rufus B. von Klclrtsmid, president of the University of Southern California, and Dr. Lynn T. Frank Jakubowski, United States murine corps, of Chicago, III. A moss green suit with matching accessories was chosen by the bride for her wedding ensemble. Guderian. Wed Tuesday MERRILL In an Informal single ring ceremony that took place at the First Presbyterian church on Tuesday, May 15, at 8:30, Edna Marie Beaslcy, daugh tcr of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Beas lcy of Merrill, became the bride of James Merrillees, son of Mrs. Murie Mankin of Evansvllle, Ind. Tho Rev. David Barnctt read the service that was per formed before a few relatives and close friends. For her wedding, Mrs. Merril lees chose a street-length dress of white chiffon over satin, with a tight basque lace yoke and full skirt. A shoulder-length veil was caught about her head with a cluster of white carna tions, and she wore a single white orchid at her shoulder. Evelyn Tierce of Klamath Falls was tho maid of honor and wore a street-length frock of palo blue with pink flowers ln her hair, and her corsage was of pink rosebuds. William Fal vcy stood as best man for the groom. Mrs. Bcasley, mother of the bride, was attired in a navy blue ensemble with white ac cessories, and a corsage of gar denias and pink rosebuds was pinned to her shoulder. Mrs. Merrillees is a graduate of the Merrill high school, later training nt the Good Samaritan hospital in Portland. She is in the office of Dr. F. E. Trotman at Merrill at the present time. Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Merrillees enjoyed a short wedding trip down the coast to Son Francisco. Upon their return, they plan to make their home at Merrill. Rebekah Club A rjotluck luncheon and bus iness meeting of the Rebekah sociul club was held in the IOOF hall on Wednesday, May 9, with Nina Currier and Alma Cofer acting as hostesses. For the meeting on May 23, the hostesses will be Alfreda Stcinmetz and Lucille Heifer. Wed In South FORT KLAMATH An nouncement has been made by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gray of Fort Klamath of the wedding of their son, PFC Donald Gray, United States marine corps, to Mary Lou McDanlcls of Stock ton, Calif., a former resident of Klamath Falls. The wedding was an event of May 3 at 5 o'clock in the after noon at the English Lutheran church ln Stockton. For her marriage, the bride chose ' a gown of navy blue with white accessories, and a corsage of sweet peas and carnations. Fol lowing the wedding, - a - recep tion was held at the home of the bride's aunt, and was at tended by mutual friends of the young couple. The groom, a veteran of the Guadalcanal campaign, has been stationed as a prison guard at Shumakcr, Calif. He and his wife plan to make their home at nearby Oakland. Townsend Club Members of the Townsend club met at the home of Ber nice McCracken for a potluck dinner on Wednesday, May 9. Daisy Douglas and Peggy Rob erts were honored on their birthdays.. W. Mocabeo of S22 .North 5th, entertained Circle 1, assisted by her daugh ter, Mrs. Payne. A former member, Catherine Woodard, was again present after a year's stay ln southern California, and there wcro two guests, Mrs. Allen Mocabcc and Georgia Johnson. Mrs. Joe Kennedy led the devotions and Mrs. Wind ham was in charge of the days' lesson. Circle 2 "met at the home of Mrs. W. J. Stcinmetz of 741 Walnut. Mrs; Steve Moss was ln charge of the devotional serv ice and Mrs. George Casper conducted the lesson. All four circles are studying "The In dian In American Life." The circle meeting In June will be a potluck picnic held at the home of Mrs. Fred Cofer of 1017 High, and those attending are asked to bring their own tublc service. . Mrs. Lester Pennington and Mrs. Rhcna Rowry were the hostesses to Circle 4, and the meeting was held at Mrs. Pen nington's home at 1860 Port land. Mrs. Sncll, chairman, was in charge of the business meet ing, Mrs. John Yadon conducted the devotional period, taking as her subject "V-E Day and What It Means to Mothers in Con nection With Mother's Day," and Mrs. Paul Edwards gave the day's lesson.
