SPORT COATS Now It the time to chooae yeara OREGON WOOLEN STORE Main at lib SNOW MELTING ON ROADS TO CRATER LAKE Snow Is melting fast on the Crater Lake road, Thomas C. Parker, assistant park superin tendent, reported after a survey with Ranger Bob Briscoe on road conditions Thursdoy. Recent warm weather has made tho drifts unusually soft at this time of year, Parker 6ald, enabling them to progress about four miles Into the park through the south entrance. Slneu the war, the government has restricted snow-plowing ex cept when the main crust of the snow has melted and only occa sional drifts remain along the roadway. At present the drifts ore loo heavy ond there Is too much snow to start plowing, but Parker Is hopeful conditions will be such that work may be start ed within the next week. The park may then be reached from highway 97 from Medford, through Union creek. Roads to the lake may be opened by June 1, Parker sur mised, but there Is still plenty of snow on the roads west of the lake and they probably won't be opened until the first week in July.
