Junior Baseball Sponsors All Set
We have been successful in securing four sponsors for the
nroposcd American Legion junior baseball program here includ
Fi The Herald and News, Balsigcr Motor company. Fluhrcrs
bakerv and Dick Reeder's. These concerns have

pressed itself as willing to furnish balls, bats
and other equipment.

had games scheduled in 27
cities yesterday succeeded in
staging only two contests due to
the weather man's mood. The
two games played were the
American league's nieht session
in St. Louis and the Internation
al's contest at Montreal.
Of the 25 postponements, eiffht
were due to snow, the others'
rain or cold weather. The Na
tional. American association,
Eastern, Interstate and Pony
leagues had their entire sched
ules postponed.

Shrewd Oregon fishermen
will head for the Portland urea
this weekend, where the state s
top catches are being landed,
but the statewide angling pic
ture was gloomy today.
Limit bags of cutthroats and
rainbows were taken this week
from most Washington county
streams, state police told the
state game commission. Rivulets
in the area were pronounced in
tiptop condition, Including the
Tualatin river and Dairy, Scug
gins and Gales creeks.
Coos county sportsmen praised
their section as the best down
state prospect. Anglers have
been taking limit catches from
the Coquille and Coos fivers
and Ten-Mile creek and lake.
The county's waters are gener
ally clear, game wardens said.
Although the Deschutes river
in central Oregon was reported
in poor shape, some experts
said it might clear suddenly.
This would mean good fishing
above and below Bend.
