Wednesday at the Little Chapel
of the Chimes In Portland or
Irving Bradford Curtcr, son of
Mrs. Martha Jane Carter and
brother of Mrs. Fannie Stevens,
both of Klamath Falls. Mr. Car
tor I survived also by his wife,
nose L Carter, and daughter,
Mrs. Virginia O'Hara, both of

Mr. Carter, who lived at 7405
N. Montana, Portland, had been
111 several week and died In the
hospital. He was a member of
the Portland Firemen's union
and at time of death was a fire
guard at Willamette Iron and
Steel.
Mr. Carter was born Septem
ber 20, 1877 at Ashlund, in the
some house in which his mother
was born. His grandfather, Cap
tain A. D. liclman, was one of
the founder of Ashland. Ho

late President Roosevelt, 800,000
five-cent United Nations confer
ence commemorative stamps
went on sale here today.
Philatelists have sent 129,000
envelopes to the San Francisco
post office to have the stamps
affixed and moiled.
Twenty-five million will be
put on sale throughout the na
tion Thursday.
