Stock Exchange Sett Ruling On Stocks NEW YORK, March 3 W) Tho New York stock exchange today prohibited, effective March 5, margin trading In stocks selling lor less than $10 a share. Minimum margin of $10 a share will be required tor issues selling above $10 a share, the order said, adding that it was to apply equally to bonds. The exchange also prohibited new margin accounts unless the equity will be at least $1000, and restricted use of small ex isting accounts. COMBINATION OF FUNDS SET BY RED GROSS Saturday. March . IMS HERALD AHD KZWS Mrml George Davis, chairman of special gifts committee of the Red Cross drive, announced at the start of the campaign that contributions will again com bine normal donations with the Red Cross war fund. The amount of contributions, says Davis, is left to individual discretion. "Each of us, how ever, should go the limit in as sisting this activity in view of the continued necessity created by war and Its additional needs," he asserted. Last year, Davit stated, the combined quota was $44,500. Through the generosity Of con tributors the sum of nearly $60, 000 was raised. This year the quota is $04,000 and based on accomplishments last year, Klamath will agajn reach the necessary amount. Klamath county retained St, per cent of last year's contribut ed fund. This year 87 per cent is being retained because ot in creased army, navy and marine activity in this' area. Contributions for March 2 reached $1077. Wheeler, 1339 East Main, was struck by a vehicle operat ed by Ernest Pitts, 3004 Crest, at the intersection of White and Martin, city police reported. " The left- side of Wheeler's car was smashed in and the front end of the other car was badly damaged. Damage to each car was estimated at $150: Neither man was injured and no' arrests were made. The police said Mrs. Spreck les, widow of the late sugar king, Adolph Spreckles, had re ceived a threatening letter and a telephone call trom a "water front man."
