Si.n B-C-D $3.50 DREW'S MANSTORE ' 733 Main Prospective juror, in the com bined case, of George Hixson vs. Manson James Young, and Clara McPhcrren, administratrix of the estate of W. H. McPhcr ren, vs. Young, were being exam ined Monday before Circuit Judge David R. Vandenberg. Hixson is suing for $15,000 damages and Mrs. McPhcrren for $10,000. Both suits were con solidated by agreement of attor neys of the plaintiffs and de fendant. Hixson and Mrs. Mc Phcrren are represented by U. S. Balentine and Arthur W. Schaupp, Young by Joseph C. O'Neill and Richard B. Maxwell. Both damage suits were filed following the fatal accident on September 27, 1844, which took the life of W. H. McPherren, pioneer merchant of this city, and seriously Injured Hixson as the latter was standing In front of the South Sixth Street ex change with McPherren. Hixson appeared In court this morning on crutches, one leg still in a cast. County Schools to Omit Vacation Students of the Klamath coun ty schools, following suit as out lined by the city school heads, will go through the spring months without the usual spring vacation, it was learned from the office of Fred Peterson, Klamath county school superintendent. A number of the schools will close on May 18, for summer va cation but Bonanza, Malin, Mer rill and Henley schools will close at a later date due to the ob servance of the harvest season. The county school office will an nounce summer vacation dates for these schools within a short time. Visitor Richard Halorusek, chief radio operator on a mer chant ship has recently returned from the Pacific war zone and has visited the past weekend at the home of his brother, Joe Malousck and family of Malin.
