The varsity won the ball game 14 to 0, but there really wasn't a great deal to choose from be tween the two teams. The reg ulars scored a safety in tho first quarter when Jerry Hicks was trapped behind the goal line by Tom Bessonctte after receiving a bad pass from center, and just before the half ended Bill Abbey chucked a pass to Rolllc Berry in the end zone for six points. Jim Palmer's attempted place kick was made. The first string scored again In the third quarter when players recovered a fumble on the re serve's thirty yard line, and with Bob Perkins and Bud Biehn carrying tho mail, Biehn drove over for the final count. Perkins' pass to Berry for the extra point fell short. One bright feature of the game was bunting. Both Hicks and Abey got off some nice kicks, and it seems this is one department Coach Marble Cook won't have to worry too much about. The boys showed plenty of scrap and another week of rigorous pracicc will make a lot of difference in the club. Tho line-up: r-LICAK YARHITY PELICAN ID TFAM Wit. Wit. Jim Palmer. ISO L.E. That's not too surprising considering it was their first test under fire, but it would certainly be well for the boys to set it out of their system before tho Grant tilt.
