The club voted to buy a hundred dollar bond during the fifth war loan drive. They also voted to send $10 lo tho Queen Charlotte maternity hospital in London, England. The club will sponior a dance on July 18 to raise funds to repair doors and locks on tho community hall and buy light globes and other fixtures. Mrs. Mae Gale Is chairman of the supper committee and I assisted by Rhea House, Cora Leavltt and Belo Frailer. Thcarsc Teare will sell ticket. Nonle Popple thanked mem bers for tho kindness shown her during a recent illness. New officers for the year were elected. They are Eva Rob erts, president; Zuln Kyler, vice president: Cora Leavltt, secretary, and Lea Murray, treasurer. Retiring officers ure Bessie Campbell. The group also plans to make a trip In the near future to the Marino Barracks in order to better un derstand the needs of the barracks. H. Brown and daugh ter, from the east, have arrived to be with Brown, who has been employed here for some time. Mrs. M. W. Brainard. who has been ill for some time, has recently been moved to the county hospital and is reported to be very poorly. Mr. and Mrs. Cade Alvls and family have moved back to their old home in Whitesboro, Okla. Alvls received a back in- Jury when a truck ran away some time ago, making further emnlovment impossible. The Tulelake Farm Center is sponsoring a picnic at Howard's gulch on July 4. canDy people and others wishing to attend are welcome. Coffee, cream, sugar and Ice cream will be furnished. Mrs. Viola Mahrt of Bremer ton, Wash., and her three chil dren of Tulelake spent last week visiting with the W. W. Wilkens. James Welbourne of the U. S. navy has Just returned to service after a brief leave at home, having completed his boot training. Mr. and Mrs. Bernle Munsel and son Jack have moved to Round mountain. Mrs. Robert Sherer and sons are visiting Mrs. Sherer's par ents in Montague. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe's house and belongings were complete ly destroyed by fire when light ning struck their home, located at Upper Gouger Neck. Friday night. The family, having been in Bieber, returned just in time to see their house in full blaze. Their home was partly covered by insurance. Bob Sherer and George Faw cett went to Lakeview last week where Sherer purchased a reg istered milk Durham bull to add to his dairy herd. Mr. and Mrs. Elijah SmaUey and son from Hackamore are visiting relatives in Lakeview. SmaUey is S. P. section fore man at Hackamore. and is now taking his vacation. Carroll Funk, Canby S.
