Conspicuous on the comeback were motors, rubbers, golds, foods, man orders and special ties. Consolidated Laundries, Dome Mines and Allied Mills edged to peaks for 1943. Popular also were General Motors, Chrysler, U. S. Rubber, Goodrich, Good year, Armour, Wilson & Co., Mc- intyre Porcupine, Montgomery Ward, Pepsi-Cola, Homestake Mining, Consolidated Edison and Southern Pacific Steels, oils, copper and rails were narrow. WHEAT CHICAGO, Aug. 31 (VP) A strong undertone developed In wheat today despite rather cau tious and quiet trading and prices inched forward to the best levels since early in July. Trade was slowed by uncer tainty over the amount of the no tices of Intention to deliver wheat on September contracts which were scheduled to be filed after the market closed.
