Alfred St. Clair's boy, Owayne, and Jim's girl, Becky Lou, both had their I tonsils and adenoidi removed the same day. Roy Sweet, who has been working for the Goose Lake Box compony at Lakevlew, recently lout about two weeks' work with a broken finger. The accident occurred when a slash of heavy green wood fell on It. Eleanor Hamilton returned Inst Kridny to resume her teach ing activities at the State Line school. The school term la to open August 31. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fisher loft last Sunday morning for a 10-riny vacation at Oregon coast al points. Mrs. Dorothy Blunt accom panied Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jones of Willow Ranch to Klam ath Falls Inst Saturday, return ing Sunday. Short Snider and wife, who have spent the last 25 months in t Alaska, came home for an ex 'tended visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Snider and friends, arriving last Thurs day. Short has Joined the fly ing cadets and expects to be in the service within the next few months. His wife also plans to get Into the flying service if pos sible. Recent word from Pvt. Evert Lawson of tho "cat skinner's" branch of the Scabees, states that he Is located about 40 miles out of Los Angeles, where he will be stationed for six weeks or so. Mrs, lna Sample of Pasadena, Calif., Is here for a few days to visit with Mrs. Raymond Heese and frlonds. The Pinochle club met last Thursday aftornoun at the home of Mrs. Fuya Keller. Chicken salad, coffee and wafors was served for refreshment. Mrs. Bunu Furls won high prize and Mrs. Joo Smith wun low. The next meeting, to be held in two weeks, will be at the home of Mrs. Bessie Woods. Mrs. Inez McGraw left last Monday morning with hor three children for a week's visit with un aunt and uncle at Grants Pass. She accompanied relatives from Lakevlew who were making tho trip. Dairy Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor of Weyerhaeuser Camp 4, M. P. Lloyd Swanson of Camp White, Oregon and Jack Drlscoll of Bo nanza, were weekend guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Schmoe. Mrs. Bud Lee and children and Mrs. Carl Gibson and chil dren of Dairy wero business visitors in Klamath Falls Sat urday. Claude Fraley, who has been 111 for some time Is reported un changed. He Is conflnod to bed at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Horsley were business visitors in the Medford vicinity for several days last week. They also visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dsya and their daughter-in-law, Mrs. AI met Horsley of that vicinity. Mrs. Erlo Johnson and Mrs. Sid Hall of Greenville. Calif., arrived here several weeks ago on business In Klamath Falls. They are spending this week with their parents and grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Schmoe and other relatives of this vicinity. Mrs. Metta Brldcnstine . of Coyle, Oklahoma, stopped off for a several days' visit with her sister, Mrs. Edith Thatcher and niece, Olive Fraley of Dairy. She was on her roturn trip home after visiting hor son and family at Darna, Oregon. Friends are glad to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith have received word from their son Albert, who for so long has been a prisoner of war and were un able to correspond with him. A dinner honoring M. P. Lloyd Swanson who spent the weekend her from Camp White, Ore., was held at the Virgil Schmoe home Sunday evening. Guesta included honor guests, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Schmoe, Al bert Burgdorf and son Eldon, Jack Drlscoll, John Olson and the host and hostess and daugh ter Louise and Vlrgie Lee Sch moe. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown and daughter were business vis itors In this vicinity on Sunday evening. Wonatchee Woman Charged With Fraud SPOKANE, Wash.. Aug. 27 OF) Mrs. Ooal Valerlo of Wenatchee. Wash., was Indicted today by a federal grand Jury which accused her of writing letters to two sin gle men in California, repre senting herself as single and promising to marry them.
