Klamath County School Bus Routes, Drivers Announced Klamath county bus routes and drivers have been an nounced. Most buses will run as usual this year. The complete schedule Is shown below. Bonania East Langell Valley driver, Mrs. Wilfred Noble. Route as usual. West Langell Valley driver, Mrs. Everett Malone. Route as usual. Poe Valley to Bonanza driv er, J. B. Hope. The route will cover the same territory as usual, but will be in opposite directions. Pine Flat driver, Mrs. Ella Rogers. Route as usual. Hildebrand to Bonanza driv er, E. P. Pool. Route as usual. Keno Worden to Keno driver, Mrs. Chapman. This route will be ex tended to the Kern Lane and will return to Keno. Ellingson Mill to Keno driv er, Howard Miller. This bus will leave elementary and junior high children at Keno; will pick up senior high students. Eight Lucille Tweed who will handle Grades ink In all grades, and pencils PLACED AT CAMP A new school Is being estab lished this year at Weyerhaeuser Camp 8 near Beatty. The school will have one teacher. A port able building was shipped to the site recently and has been set up ready for use. The school at Crescent Lake has been remodeled with an en largement of the teacher's apart ment and several other improve ments. Algoma school will be closed this year and the county is not planning on a school at Kirk. from Modoc Point to Chiloquin by the old highway. Altamont O. A. Clark and W. C. Pioneer Woman Dies At Oregon City Home OREGON CITY, Aug. 27 (Pj Funeral services will be held here Saturday for Mrs. Rhoda Ellen Scott Latourcttc, 88, pi oneer who died at her home yes terday. The daughter of John Tuckler Scott and Ruth Ecklcr Scott, who came to the Oregon territory by prairie schooner in 18S2, she was born in a blockhouse near Olympia, Wash., during an In dian uprising in 1859. Mrs. Roosevelt Now In New Zealand AUCKLAND, N. Z., Aug. 27 (IP) Adding another 6500 miles to her travels, Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt arrived hero today to visit American troops hospitals and Red Cross centers, and to see New Zealand at war. In a broadcast to the people of the Dominion, Mrs. Roosevelt expressed appreciation for the great hospitality which she said New Zcalanders had shown American boys so far from home. This is the first joint city and county teachers' meeting in a number of years. Rex Putnam, stuto superin tendent of public Instruction, as well as Dr. Frank Parr, ex ecutive secretary of the Oregon State Teachers' association, unci Joy Hills, state department of education, will participato in the program. Local school of ficials will also speak. At 9:30 a. m., Mondny, the program will start with a gen oral meeting of the Klamath County Oregon State Teachers' association at Klamath Union high school with Mrs. Joanna Givan, presiding. There will bo group singing with Andrew Loney as leader. A business meeting at which Mayor Hous ton will appear briefly, will follow. A violin solo by John O'Connor, accompanied by Mrs. O'Connor will be featured. Also scheduled for the morn ing session is a talk titled "Im mediate Outlook for Education In Oregon" by Dr. Frank Parr of Portland. Joy Hills of Sulem will speak on "Curriculum Changes in Oregon Schools." Rex Putnam will give an ad dress on "A Message to Teach ers. At 1:30 p. m., county teach ers will meet In the gymnasium of the Altamont Junior high school with Fred Peterson pre siding. Group meetings will start at 2 p. m. The Junior-senior high schools will meet in the music room at Altomont with Miss Hills as speaker. Intermediate grade teachers are to go to room S to meet with Isabelle Brixner. Mary McComb will speak to primary teachers in room 7 and bus drivers are to meet In room 10.- Principals and coaches are to meet In room 11 at 2:30 and music teachers In room 12 at that same time. City teachers are also to havo an afternoon program. A meeting of cafeteria cooks is scheduled for Saturday, Sep tember 4 at 10 a. m. at Alta mont Junior high cafeteria. Music Teachers to Meet August 30 A meeting of music teachers has been scheduled for Monday, August 30, it was announced by Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson, coun ty school music supervisor. Mrs. Henderson said that the music program In rural schools will be carried on this year as In the past. First Graders Must Be Six Years Old School authorities announced Friday that any child who la six years old on or before November 13 of this year should enter school August 31 If ho Is going to enter at all this year. Any youngster who will not be six by November 15 should wait until next yenr to start school. This age applies to both city and county schools. KENO SENIOR HIGH PUPILS It tins definitely been decided that tho three upper grades of Keno high school students will bo brought to Klamath Union high school this year with the lower grades, including the ninth, continuing at Keno as usual. A bus will come from Worden and will make connections with a bus leaving Keno for Klamath Falls, according to county school officials. No bus will go from Weyerhaeuser camp to Keno this year. Grades from 1 to 8 will bo held at Weyerhaeuser Camp 4 and any students from there entering high school will come to Klamath Falls or some other community to go to school. Teachers on Monday, Augunt 30, will attend sessions of the Oregon State Teachers' associ ation at the KU1IS and In the afternoon will attend a section al meet in the Altamont Junior high school. In the high school E. E. Evans of Chiloquin will teach science and social studies, George lloobs will teach shop and boys' physi cal education, Estrid Geraghty will teach the seventh grade and music, Bcululi Elliott will have chargo of the eighth grado and tho high school home economics class. Elliott will teach commercial and some math. Other math classes will be handled by an other member of tho faculty. Mrs. Ritchie the third and fourth, and Mrs. Ora Burkes the first. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Morrow will drive the buses and take care of the Janitor work. Elliott stated that the cafe teria will not be open on the first day of school since it has been Impossible to engage a cook. Students are asked to come prepared with their own lunches.
