Mr. Wat son's address will be delivered at a meeting to be held at the Free Methodist church at 1005 High street on Saturday, July 17 at 8 p. m. Watson Is well-qualified to deal with this topic as he has been prominent in all efforts to solve the liquor problems. He is well-informed and as a public speaker and attorney has spoken In most of the states in the union. His appearance In this city Is a part of the plan to inform the public concerning the influence of liquor on army morale, con ditions in war industries, and the effort to protect both sold iers and civilians from exploita tion by the gambling, liquor and vice interest. Local dry leaders point out that spontaneous demand for ' war time prohibition has arisen as shown by resolutions passed by almost every national relig ious body which has met in the past fifteen months. These were made possible by the volunteer seamstresses of the Ladies Aid, who worked up 99 yards of ma terial. BRING BUDDY MEET TO BE HELD SUNDAY Last Sunday was "Induction Sunday" in the second of a ser ies of every-Sunday rallies cov ering the months of July and August at the Church of the Nasarene at 620 Martin street. Under the general title of "Un- conditional Surrender" for the series, each of which begins at 9:45 a. m., an attendance in crease of over fifty per cent is already noted. This coming Sunday attention Is to be given to acquaintances and friends of members in the "Bring a Bud dy" emphasis. Each Sunday has its setting in a military theme to challenge attendance, and competition be tween the army and navy is proving interesting. A soldier plays reveille each Sunday, after which the "I am Late" sign ap pears and taps are sounded for late-comers. Each visitor present receives a copy of the New Testament and is enrolled in the ranks on the side of the person inviting them, either as a soldier or sailor under the respective leadership of "Lieutenant" Lafa Black or 'Admiral" Ed Peterman. First Presbyterian Church The First Presbyterian church is located at North Sixth and Pine streets. The pastor is the Rev. The morning worship at 11 o'clock opens with the organ prelude, "Prelude" by Scheve. The processional is "Fairest Lord Jesus" arranged by Willis. In response to the pastoral greeting, the choir sings "Grace and Peace" by Clenaban. After the call to worship both con gregation and choir unite in singing "The Doxology" and, after the invocation, and Lord's prayer, the "Gloria Patrl." The period of quiet meditation opens with the choir singing "Hear Our Prayer, O Lprd," and closes with congregation and choir singing "Our Fathers' God to Thee, Author of Liberty." The choir offertory is Schumann's "We Give Thee But Thine Own" and the organ offertory is "Prayer" by Armstrong. The special music will be a trio, "Paradise" by Schubert sung by Mrs. Bert C. Thomas, Mrs. Thor G. Newman and Miss Eleanor Thomas. The pastor will deliv er the sermon. The service closes with the benediction, the choir dismissal, "Threefold Amen," and the organ postlude, Marche by Tschaikowsky. The Bible school is held at 9:45 a. m. Bibles are counted each day and every effort Is made towards punctuality and perfect attendance. All classes are being continued throughout the summer months.
