PAGE SIX Exciting Visit In Mexico City Three Klamath Girls Report Having Wonderful Time in Mexican University at Summer Session. Excltlrig word comes from Mexico City where three Klam ath Falls resident are going to school. Phyllis Foster. Janice Bubb and Mrs. B. B. Blomqulst are attending the University of Mexico In Mexico City this summer and have been doing a goodly amount of sight-seeing on the side. The three are staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Grisi. Mrs. Grisl is a former United States girl and is a gradu ate of a college here in the States. Mr. Grisi is a lawyer in Mexico City. They have had exciting times at both bullfights and rodeos so far. However, the bull fights they did not especially care for. They have reported, though, that the rodeos are the most wonderful they have ever seen, with each performer in a brilliant costume and hav ing an individual act. At one of the bullfights, the women were thrilled to be able to see the president of Mexico and also of another South American country who hap pened to be visiting in Mex ico at the time. Later this month they have been invited to a reception for the President of Chile. The attendance at the sum mer session is very large, ac cording to letters received. The trio plans to return to the States the latter part of the summer. Phyllis graduated this year from the University of Ore gon and Janice is a Junior student at Stanford univer sity in Palo Alto. Mrs. Blom quist will return to her teach ing position at Klamath Un ion high school when their trip is over. Wedding of Interest Jeanne Rasmussen Be comes Mrs. Dean Seaney in Ceremony A wedding of interest to the younger set in Klamath Falls was the marriage of Jeanne Rasmussen, daughter of Mrs. J. R. Ritter, and Dean Seaney, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Seaney of Hammond, Indiana. They were married at the home of Mrs. Grace Spannus on South Fifth street on June the twenty-fourth. Reverend Hugh Bronson, pastor of the Tulelake Pres byterian church, officiated. The only attendant of the bride was Mrs. Dale Bebber, sister of the groom and the best man was Walter Clev enger. The bride was dressed in an , aqua blue suit with white ac cessories and a corsage of red nd white roses. The house was beautifully decorated with gladioli, roses nd carnations. Mrs. Seaney was a student of Klamath Union high school and was active in school af fairs. The young couple will make their home in Klamath Falls. BIRTHDAY , CELEBRATED AT DINNER SPRAGUE RIVER A sur prise birthday dinner was held at the home of Mrs. Grace Hagen on Tuesday ev ening, July the sixth, in honor of Mrs. W. C. Cole. The guests assembled at half past six o' clock and surprised Mrs. Cole later. Dinner was served to guests by Miss Charlene Storey and Miss Pana June Hagan. Guests who attended were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cole and children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hagan and children, Mr. and Mrs. Menis Hamblin, Mrs. Roper, Mary Jean and Margaret Jones, Lovena Pugh, Lenora Thurman, Charlene Storey, June Mauphet, Alma Young, Betty Browning, Nina Brown ing, Bill Patrick, Wilbur Browning, Wilson Browning, Dewey Parrish, Harold Par rish, Fonzie Parrish, Don Parks, and Jessie Lee Kelly. Music for the evening's en tertainment was furnished by Bill Patrick and Wilbur and Wilson Browning, Harold Par rish, and Don Parks. Lovena Pugh and Lenora Thurman also sang. A lovely gift was presented by Mrs. Florence Hamblin for the group. Mills-Johnson On Wednesday evening, at nine o'clock, in the First 1 Presbyterian church, Lieuten ant David John Mills of Camp Abbot, Oregon, and Miss Dorothy M. Johnson, both residents of Weschester coun ty, New York, were united in marriage by the pastor, the Rev. Theodore Smith, in the presence of a small group of friends. The single ring cere mony was used. The witnes ses were Mr. and Mrs. Arvld E. Hakanson, Stevensons . Entertain Fourth of July Picnic Held at Home on Lakeview Road An event that friends of Mr. and Mrs. George Steven son of the Lakeview road looked forward to recently was the Fourth of July all day picnic given at the Stev enson home. . Guests were invited for a pot luck picnic luncheon and a rousing game of baseball was later enjoyed by all those present The event of last Sunday was just one of the many parties given at home this year to celebrate the Fourth. The gas situation handled this, and it seems as if these families have really discov ered all over again the fun that they can have in their own back yards. WORD HEARD OF MARRIAGE IN KANSAS MALIN Word has been received here of the marriage in Kansas on June twenty seventh of Miss Jean Wilde, daughter of Mrs. S. G. Mur phy of Bend, and the late Frank Wilde of Tulelake. The bride is a sister of Mervyne Wilde of Malin. She attended high school in Tulelake prior to moving to Bend. Legion Ladies nstall Officers Klamath Falls and Malin Auxiliaries Honor New Officers at Joint Meeting This Week The American Legion auxiliary began another year of service with the installation of new officers at an impressive ceremony on Tuesday evening, July the sixth, at the Legion memorial hall. During the meeting the members decided to assist in the July bond sale, and they will sponsor a radio program in the near future. All mem bers are asked to watch for the notice and to assist in the bond drive for July, women's month. INTEREST IS ANNOUNCED Friends here have learned of the marriage of Miss Max ine Mahaney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahaney of Phoe nix, Arizona, to Mr. Melvin Ralph Griffith, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Griffith of Klam ath Falls. The ceremony was read in the Glad Tidings tem ple in San Francisco by the Reverend Warwick at a five o'clock ceremony on June the fourteenth. The bride wore a light blue gabardine suit with brown and white accessories and' a corsage of red rosebuds. Those who attended the wedding ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Griffith, Mrs. Charles Bundy and Miss Elsie Ann Griffith. Later a wedding dinner was served at the Charles Bundy home in San Francisco for the wedding party. The groom is with the mer chant marine army transport service and stationed in San Francisco. 4 BEVERLY REED OF WAVES IS GUEST HERE Miss Beverly Jean Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Reed of this city recently stopped off here on her way to her new post In Pasco, Washington. Miss Reed is a petty officer with the WAVES and carries a rating of AMM 3c. She has recently been transferred from Memphis, Tennessee, naval air station. While here she was honored by a number of Informal par ties and affairs. She was also a guest of the Soroptimlsts club last week. WAVE Reed was a member of the Venture club when she lived here and was also a member of Beta Sigma sor ority. Dehlingers Are Hosts at Picnic Family and Friends Invited to Share July Fourth Celebrations at Home on Merrill Road Fun for both the adults and youngsters was the order of the day when Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Dehlinger entertained at their home on the Merrill road for their family and friends on Sun day, July the Fourth. An all-day picnic and party was held on the Dehlinger lawn. Adults played cords and visited while the youngsters occu pied themselves with games and had a generally good time. Circle two met with Mrs. F.arl Redman at her home on 803 Front street with a lawn picnic at one o'clock. After ' lunch, devotional hour wni : held which was conducted by Miss Marian Smylhe. MIA Sinythe Is a sister of Mrs. Redman. The topic she choo for her hour was based on th book, "Abundant Living" by E, Stanley Jones. There were twenty-one present at the meeting of circle two, Circles three and four met with Mrs. L. K. Phelps at her home on Auburn street. A one ' o'clock dish luncheon was served on the Phelps' lawn and a social afternoon was en joyed, Twenty-two members were present at this mooting. Mm. A.
