June 22, 1043 HERALD AND NEWS, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON PAGE FIT! Goes South Mrs. Dave Shirk left this weekend for a two weeks' visit in Oakland, San Francisco and Fresno. She will Join her husband who has re turned recently from Dutch Har bor where he has Been stationed with the Seabees In Alaska. Shirk passed through Klamath Falls last week and had a visit with his family between trains. He will receive further assign ment in the south. Mrs. Shirk Is with the accounting depart ment at Copco. From Glendale Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hazzard and daughter Rosa llo, arrlvod here Sunday night from Glondale, Calif., where they have mado their hbme for the past several months. Haz zard Is manager of Railway Ex press there. While In Klamath Falls, the former residents are guests of Mrs. Hazzard's mother, Mrs. E. O. Foster of 629 Jeffer son street. be held Thursday at 1 p. m., at the home of Mrs. O. D. Mat thews, 324 North Sixth street. There will be a covered dish luncheon. Mrs. Frances Rack nor is assisting hostess and will be In charge of the program. All friends and women of the church are Invited to attend. Hold Picnic The Stlngerettet and the ladles' auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Train men will hold a Joint potluck picnic Thursday, June 24. If the weather permits, the picnic will be held in Moore park, and all members are asked to be at the KC hall at 12:30 p. m. If the weather is unfavorable the potluck will be held in the KC hall. Bring the children.. The club and lodge will furnish ice cream for all. This will be a no-hostess event. Methodist WFCS The Wom an's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist church will meet on Thursday, June 24. There will be an executive meeting at 1:30 p. m. followed by the business meeting at 2 p. m. Reports of the conference will be presented by those who attended, and there will be a musical program. From Portland Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lockwood of Portland, for mer Klamath residents, have been visiting in this city for the past several days, guests at the Hotel Elk.
