Carl Swanson of Ori'Ron nvonup. She was married on Juno the fifth to Mr. Kenneth Stuestnll, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Stuestall of Seattle. The ceremony took place In the Lutheran church In Seattle at hnlf past eight o'ejock. The service was read by the Reverend Gnbrielson. Miss Adrlo Znmnky of Klnmath Falls was the maid of honor and Miss Hazel Stuestall of Seattle was a bridesmaid. Alvin Jucouscn, also of Seattlo, was the best man. The bride woro a long dress of lace and a white veil. She carried a bouquet centered by a single orchid, tier two at tendants wore matching dres ses of white and carried bou quets of old fashioned flow ers. After the wedding took place, a reception was held In the church parlors, with about ono hundred fifty guests present. The brido and groom cut the wedding cako and Miss Stella Downe, Mrs. It ex lliatt, and Miss Uctly Jacobsen serv. ed. Miss Hownc and Mrs. HI att, the former Barbara Bell, are also from Klamath Falls. After the reception the touple left for a honeymoon trip on the coast. For travel ling, Mrs. Stuestall wore a whito suit with brown acces sories. After they roturn the two will bo at home in tho St. Helens apartments in Port land. The bride wus a popular member of tho younger set hero and after graduating from Klamath Union high school, attended Oregon Stato college. Frank Adams of Merrill. The date of the wedding has been set for June the sixteenth. The ceremony will be held in St. Paul's Episcopal church. The engagement was an nounced Thursday evening at a supper party given by Mrs. Scrruys at her home. The news was mado known by the announcement on the place cards at tho prettily decorated table. Mr. John Wallin was best man and Mrs. Sybil Wallin was the bride's only atten dant. The bride wore a two piece aqua dress with a corsage of red roses. ' ENJOYS REUNION THIS PAST WEEK During the past week a complete family reunion was held at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Chilcotc, 401 Mesa street. Mr. and Mrs. Hale G. Thompson came from Eugene, Mrs. Thompson being the former Ruth May Chllcote. Also here for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. William E. Chil cotc and Robert B. Chilcotc, an ensign In the navy. Ensign Chilcote has been stationed for the past three months in Se attle. William Chllcote is in the army signal corps and is now training at Stanford univer sity, and Robert is leaving soon for additional training at the Naval Supply Corps school at Boston, Masspchusctts. . . Although . . most of them are from the University of Oregon and Oregon State, Klamath has been well represent ed in other schools throughout the country. Now that they are home, many of the young people will work this summer, and others will turn right around and go back to school for the summer session. E. Priest on Lakevlew street on Friday evening, June the fourth. Mrs. Hogle was presented with gifts by her neighbor hood friends and a social eve ning was enjoyed. Affair Honoring Dean ' Springer of Berkeley To Be Given June 18 Plans are going forward this week for the tea to be given by the women of St. Paul's Episcopal parish Friday, June the eighteenth at two o'clock in the parish hell. The tea is to honor Ethel M. Springer, dean of St. Mar garets House in Berkeley, California. She will be in Klamath Falls for a few days next week. Serving during the tea hour will be young women of the church who are home from school for the summer. Those serving are Polly Ganong, Hel en Radcliffe, Joan Campbell, Rose Macartney, Peggy Keat ing, and Susanne Michelson. . Dean Springer is bringing ' moving pictures showing ac tivities of the school and school affairs. All women of the community are invited to meet her at the tea. OWAC MEETING IN PORTLAND ATTENDED The Oregon Women's Am - bulance Corps held an annual state board meeting in Port land last weekend. Two rep resentatives from the Klam ath branch. Lieutenant Ber dena Recder and Captain Pat Livingston, a 1 1 e n d ed th meeting held in the Heathman hotel. All delegates had to give reports and the Klamath re ports won second place for excellence. Reports were also given on the organization of the Junior Ambulance corps recently started here. SURPRISE PARTY GIVEN FOR MRS. M'GORAN On Tuesday afternoon, June the eighth, a surprise birthday party was given Mrs. Ernest McGoran at the home of Mrs. W. G. Ely on Nevada street, with Mrs. Stanley Pie ser assisting. Several games ot croquet were played on the lawn, and sewing occupied the rest of the afternoon. Birthday cake and home-made ice cream were served in the dining room, the table being covered with a lace cloth and bright with bouquets of tulips, and a kitchen towel shower was given to Mrs. McGoran. Attending were the guest of honor, Mrs. McGoran and Ernest Charles and Anita Mary McGoran, Mrs. Ralph Karrar, Mrs. Stanley, Soran, Mrs. Ernest Wallin and Doris, Edith and Donald Wallin. Mrs. . Dehlinger home on the Merrill road on June tho ninth for an old time chari vari. The occasion was the re cent marriage of Private Clyde Dehlinger, and his bride, the former Rose Cook of Salem. . Private Dehlinger is on a nine day' furlough before being transferred to Fort Sill Of ficers Training school. Vance Vaupe Guest Speaker Soroptimists Hear President of Klamath County ! Health Association at Meeting Thursday j The Soroptimist club enjoyed an Interesting and instruc tive meeting Thursday when Mr. Vance Vaupel, president of the Klamath County Health association, spoke to the group on the work of the Klamath County Health association. Mr. Vaupel defined the three groups, the Klamath county health unit, which is the health unit building; the Klamath county health board, the governing body for the health unit, and the Klamath County Public Health association, the lay group, which conducts the tuberculosis seal sale annually... The Soroptimists were informed that last year's sale was Trio Goes To Mexico Three Plan to Attend University of Mexico Summer Session ' -;: Mrs. B. B. Blomquist of Crescent avenue and Miss Phillis Foster of 725 Eldorado street . left Klamath Falls Falls Thursday evening for San Francisco where they were. to be joined by Miss Janice Bubb, also of Klamath Falls, and from there were to travel to Mexico City, Mexico. While In Mexico this sum mer they will attend classes at the University of Mexico City. On their return, they will stop at Guadalajara, Mexico for a short stay. They plan to return home in late.. August. Miss Foster graduated this year from the University of Oregon, afd Miss Bubb will be a junior student at Stan ford next year. Both are graduates of Klamath Union high school. Mrs. Blomquist is a teacher of dramatics at the local high school. On the way home this sum-' mer, Miss Foster will leave the party at Tucson, Arizona, ' and visit with friends in El Paso, Texas, and San Marino, California. Friends will be glad to hear that little Margaret Gerber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hen ry Gerber of High street, is up and around after a long ill ness at her home. JOINS;WAVES Miss Nan Goeller Joined the parade of Klamath' women going into United States serv ice. She left this week for training with the WAVES'. She is the daughter of Mr. ' and Mrs. Harry Goeller, 128.
