Scissors Used In Fatal Fight, i, Says Defendant BOISE, Jan. 28 W-Tobie S. Davison, charged with second de gree murder in the stabbing of W. L. Goode of Dallas, Texas, last October 3, testified yester day he used a pair of scissors in a fight after Goode had knock ed him down. He used the scissors he said "because I thought he was going to beat me to death." Davison, formerly of Borger, Texas, said he showed Mr. and Mrs. Good a larger apartment on October 3 than the one they had rented at his motor court the night before, and remarked "If you had told the boy there were three of you he wouldnlt have rented you a small room." Purge Reported Underway in French Circles Br The Associated Press The Berlin radio broadcast a Paris dispatch Wednesday le portlng a purge of state and mun icipal services was under way. in France to assure that all persons taking part in the administration of the country were in full sup port of the Vichy , government's policies. The broadcast, recorded by the Associated Press, said that since France's armistice some 2000 . municipal councils had been dissolved and more than 800 mayors removed by gov ernment order. Lytle, chief of tha state' division of animal hus bandry, told Sil verton sheepmen this week that improper diet and lack ot exercise at time of lambing are believed - to- ba causes of pregnant ewe paralysis. He recommended that mo lasses and bran be given ill ewes, that warm water be used instead of cold, and that pure vetch hay or alfalfa may be used in preference to oat hay.
