SGATTERED NEW
STOCK'MARKET
By VICTOR EUBANK
NEW YORK, Jan. 28 P)
Scattered new highs for more
than a year continued to bright
en the stock market today de
spite the apathetic performance
of many leaders due mainly to
profit cashing on the lengthy re
covery. Specialties stepped out in
front, when Air Lines especially
favored after mid-day. - Rails
then came to' the fore in fast
bidding. Most steels and motors
failed to make the grade. Utili
ties did moderately well but
lacked buoyancy displayed at the
tail-end of the previous session.
Carrier bonds exhibited - a
fresh burst of strength after ear
ly hesitancy.

Sheepmen Told
Treatment for
Ewe Paralysis '
SILVERTON, Jan. 28 (D-L.
Dr. W, H. Lytle, chief of tha
state' division of animal hus
bandry, told Sil verton sheepmen
this week that improper diet
and lack ot exercise at time of
lambing are believed - to- ba
causes of pregnant ewe paralysis.
He recommended that mo
lasses and bran be given ill
ewes, that warm water be used
instead of cold, and that pure
vetch hay or alfalfa may be
used in preference to oat hay.
Sheepmen said the disease,
although non-contagious, is pre
valent in many localities this
season.
