An Oregon farmer, faced with tho daily chore of crossing a river to get to Ills horses, asked his rationing board for a pair of rubber boots. This, said James M. Mount, stato OPA rationing official, Is what occurred after his request: The rationing board said no, that ho did not qualify for boots under the regulations. The board suggested he build a bridge and he wouldn't need the boots. That the farmer did. But when it was only partially fin ished he Informed his rationing board that he needed some boots to complete the Job. The board ruled that as a bridgcbuilder he qualified. They granted him the boots.
