The list extended Thursday's mild advance by fractions at the start in fairly active dealings. The pace slowed later and peak quotations were reduced here and there in the final hour. Transfers were around 300,000 shares. Postal Telegraph . preferred was one of the few stocks to make a new high by a modest figure. Rails were in front most of the day, with interest center ing in Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, Great North ern and Atlantic Coast Line.
