The Los Angeles Angels con- tinued their fast pace with a triple win over San Diego to lengthen their league leadership by two full games and clouted San Diego from undisputed pos session of third place to a tie for fourth. Angel pitchers made powder puff hitters out of the erstwhile slugging Padres, nearly shutting them out in both Sunday games, winning the first 3 to 1 and the second 6 to 1. Los Angeles' Saturday margin was 7 to 3. Sacramento, ousted only last Friday from the top after a. ten ure of several weeks, went into the weekend with a chance at a comeback in two double head ers. May. . Right through until next un-f day night the nation's leading amateur and professional gon ers are going to be toiling around Tam O'Shanter's spraw ling acres, settling so many dif ferent trophies and prizes that probably only May, himself, knows the exact score.
