The evening was spent In hemming tea towels and at different Intervals the guest of honor received her gifts by the sounding of alarm clocks which were hidden about the rooms. At the close of the evening supper was served from a buffet table which held a centerpiece of late summer flowers. Hannell of Niagara Falls, New York. The wedding will ba an event of January. The bride-elect attended tha University of Buffalo and is a graduate ot the Katherine Gibbs school in Boston. Any women of the com munity who are Interested are Invited to attend. STUDENTS ENTERTAINED WEDNESDAY An Interesting dinner was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Lindemood at Wey erhaeuser on Wednesday hon oring Calvin Lamb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest D. Lamb, who leaves Sunday for Oregon State college to study electri cal engineering. Fall flowers decorated the table where gifts, colorfully wrapped, were presented each of the guests who leaves soon for school. Following dinner pictures of the New York and San Francisco fairs were shown by Calvin. The bride wore soldier blue tailored dreas with black accessories and carried a cor sage of pink roses. Miss Engleman graduated from Miller high school, in South Dakota, and Mr. Millet graduated from Crook county high school. They both came., to Prlnevllle in 1939 frem Klamath Falls. Miss Engleman has been visiting friends In San Fran cisco and Mr. Millet joined her there. After the wed ding they went to Klamath Falls for several days, and returned to Prlnevllle Satur day. Mr. Millet Is employed by the Alexander-Yawkey Lum ber company, and they are living at the Prlnevllle Auto Court for the present. Cen tral Oregonlan. Johnsons Honored Pastor And Wife Feted On Eighteenth Anni versary On Sunday evening, Sep tember the eighth, the Rev. and Mrs. L. K. Johnson of the Klamath Lutheran church were guests of honor at a sur prise given them on their eighteenth wedding anniver sary when more than one hun dred members and friends gathered at the church audi torium on Cross and Crescent streets for a brief program and refreshments. The program opened by singing a hymn. Mr. Casper Murdock, as spokesman for the friends explained to tha pastor and his wife they thought a very appropriate way of having the first social gathering in the church was an occasion of this kind. Mrs. C. Ongman, in charge of tha program, presented little Carol Mikels, dressed in red, whit and blue, who sang "God Bless America." The audience joined in singing "Love's Old Sweet Song" and "Auid Lang Syne," accompanied on tha piano by Mrs. Carl Brandsness. Little Kay Johnson presented Mrs. Johnson with a bouquet of flowers. Mrs. C. Ongman, in behalf of the Ladies' Aid and friends, presented them with a bouquet ot flowers and a purse of money in memory of the occasion. Rev. and Mrs. Johnson responded with thanks and appreciation for the thoughtfulness of their many friends. All joined in singing the Doxology after which refreshments w e r served. Degree ot Honor Plana Dinner The Degree of Honor mem- bers will hold a potluck din-' ner at the KC hall Monday, September the twenty-third, at six o'clock when the lodge will entertain the juvenile members. On Tuesday, September tha twenty-fourth, members of the Bend lodge will entertain tha Klamath Falls unit at a din ner and evening of entertain ment, and at this time tha drill team of the Klamath lodge will give its first ex hibition. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. WWta were expected to arrive Satur day from their home at Seattle to spend several days as guests of Mr. White's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ira White, at their heme in tha Audley apartments. Tha Whites will go from here to Los Angeles and will later visit at Mr. Whlte'a former home in Kansas. Speaker At Club ' Produces Magic Mr. Seavey Entertains Soroptimisti With' Inter esting Feats C. E. Seavey, guest of the Soroptlmlst club at luncheon Thursday noon, kept the group amused, startled and perplexed with his clever manipulation of cards, thimbles, "telephone poles" and handkerchiefs which went Into his palm as red, but emerged as orange, green, or what have you, and although Mr. Seavey earnestly tried to explain the queer happenings ol various articles he was using no one seemed much the wiser when it was all over. BPW Club Has Dinner Members Enjoy 'Mess' With National Guard Boys Houghing It with the boys," the Business and Professional Women's club Monday patri otically ate its second dinner of the club year from the mess kits of the national guard, whose culinary head quarters are also, at present, in the Willard hotel building. Speaking in keeping with the general theme of the meeting, Mrs. Frank C. Hen derson, itinerant director of the Girl Scouts of America, gave an entertaining descrip tion of her organization's his tory and purposes. - Of considerable Interest to the Business Women was Mrs. Henderson's account of her first Girl Scout venture, that of knitting for the soldiers in World war number one, which was the inspiration for the national organization of Girl Scouts. Under the able direction of Mrs. Esther Lawler, the club's call to arms was issued, in the form of a membership committee rally designed to Interest old and new mem bers alike in the program out lined for the coming year. Following the manual of arms, presented by the na tional guard, a brief business meeting was conducted by the club president, Mrs. Flo Ann Eaton. Assisting Mrs. Lawler, chairman of the membership committee were Bernice Britt, Mabel Upper, Delphla Hoyt, and Cordelia CantralL STINGERETTE CLUB EMJOYS THURSDAY PARTY Mrs. W.
