June 29 (AP-USDA) Domestic wools in Boston have been decidedly slower this week than in the previous week especially when comparison is made with the early part of last week. For the most part quo tations were quite firmly main tained. Concessions, however, were available on some offerings because of the slow demand and the weakness of prices In South American wools. C A new and different type of four-family multiple dwelling, designed In a novel "cloverleaf" design and affording many desirable fea tures not found in the ordinary standardized row house, has been developed by the United States Housing authority and submitted to local housing agencies en gaged in slum-clearance and low rent housing programs through out the country. Dubbed the "Quatrefoil Plan," it is directed toward achieving an interesting variety of exterior appearances, arrangement and outlook not found in straight row house construction, at the same time providing economical, com fortable and convenient living with an abundance of light and air and ample yards for gardens and sitting-out space. In commenting on the new housing plan, USHA Administra tor Nathan Straus said: "The Quatrefoil Plan, devel oped by our technical division, marks a real achievement in this line. The purpose of the plan is to provide living conditions, bet ter than the conventional row house design, at no more cost of construction than the conven tional design. This problem has been solved by the striking de vice of offsetting the dwelling units. The basic plan calls for construction of four two-story dwelling unit arranged around a central axis. Each dwelling thus has three exposures. There Is an unusual amount of light and air in all rooms and through ventilation In both the living room and the principal bedroom. "Variations in the plan so far developed provide for two-bedroom and three bedroom living units, which may be arranged in interlocking fashion- "A unique feature of the plan Is that it eliminates back yards and provides Instead front and side yards for each dwelling unit USHA technicians say this will lead to better upkeep by tenants, as all yards will' be vis ible to passers-by and therefore will be considered 'front' yards. TULELAKE One of the most modern buildings in the entire Klamath basin is being com pleted In tho next few days to be occupied when finished by Earl Agcr, grocer. Open house will be held,' probably about July 20. Ice storage facilities will be ready for use and open to the public by July 1, Mr. Ager stated this week. In this section of the build ing 400 new typo steel boxes will be available, refrigeration to be of the carrier type with a sharp freeze room that will freeze a quarter of beef solid in 45 minutes. Temperature in this room will remain at 43 de grees below zero and this unit of the new store will be one of the finest in northwest Cali fornia or southern Oregon. A floor space of 40 by 60 also provides corridor room. Outer walls of the building are of concrete and brick tile with glass block trim. The main store room has a floor space of 82 by 130 with a mez zanine of four rooms. Mr. Ager's office will occupy one of these rooms, the second hav ing been let to a local cos metician. Two others are be ing considered by other busi ness concerns. Air conditioned with a hem lock floor, the main room will be occupied by the grocery de partment, a meat department, delicatessen and fountain. Ager has been in the grocery business here for the past five years, spending almost his en tire life In some capacity In the food business. The building, located at the corner of Main and Modoc streets Is being completed at an approximate cost of $35,000.
