Brown, former Klam ath county deputy sheriff and a farmer of the Henley district, on Thursday declared his candidacy for the republican nomination for sheriff. Brown's statement follows: In announcing my candidacy for sheriff on the republican ticket J make the following statement of my experience and qualifications. I was born in Kansas and lived there and in Oklahoma un til I joined the army in 1917. I served ' twenty seven months overseas, eleven months of which were spent as sergeant with the intelligence group In the second battalion, 16th Infan try of the First division. When I returned from France I came to Klamath Falls where I have made my home. I am married and have three children. I served two years on the Klamath Falls police force and ix years as criminal deputy of Klamath county under Sheriff Low. In 1934 I resigned from this position to operate my farm in the Henley district. I am running for this office because I believe, tiat with my background of experience and residence here. I can effect cer tain benefits for the people of Klamath county.
